Hamilton County divides records among several clerks, so the court type should be identified before a request is made:

- General Sessions Criminal verification: call the office in Room 108 at 423-209-7600
- Circuit or Sessions Civil records: contact Circuit Court Clerk Larry L. Henry at 423-209-6700 or Sessions Civil at 423-209-7630
- Chancery, estate, or equity records: contact Clerk & Master Rachael Kapperman at 423-209-6600
- Juvenile records: contact Juvenile Court Clerk Gary D. Behler at 423-209-5250; confidentiality limits apply
The primary criminal records counter is Vince Dean, Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk, 102 Courts Building, 600 Market Street, Chattanooga, TN 37402, 423-209-7500. The office generally serves the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. A Circuit, Sessions Civil, Chancery, or Juvenile request should go to its separate clerk instead.
